Shifting the world from a reliance on fossil fuels requires innovation of bio-based materials and circularity in ensuring the principles of refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle
Minerva has been instrumental in the development and production of a unique book for children (aged 5 – 8 years old) and adults to discover and enjoy learning how everyday habits and choices can achieve a more sustainable future for the planet and humanity.
‘What’s Bioeconomy?’ was conceived, developed and produced with partners in the EU funded project BIOVOICES for which Minerva was the UK partner. The book presents in a playful and engaging way surprising facts that challenge our thinking and understanding about how to make the shift from fossil fuels to bio-based materials.
Bea, Mum of Molly, aged 5, who ‘road tested’ the book and lives in Hampshire said:
“‘What’s Bioeconomy?’ is well pitched for Molly’s age group and focuses on items in her everyday life at home and in school – perfect. It’s a book to dip in and out of, especially with its links to topics being covered in school such as recycling and pollution.”
Available in 10 European languages, the book’s concept and content were shared with and validated by a Scientific Committee of experts from academia, industry and retail and policy.
Iain Ferguson, Environment Manager – Food Policy, The Co-operative Group UK, member of the Scientific Committee, states:
“I was pleased to contribute to this important project. The clock is ticking on a climate and environmental crisis and we all need to co-operate and work together to bring about change – not least because it is imperative if we are to have a healthy natural environment to pass on to the next generation.
This is a delightful book which will be useful for adults to give accurate and accessible information to children in an engaging , informative and enjoyable way.”
Rhonda Smith, Minerva Director says:
“The Minerva Team are delighted to be building on the BIOVOICES project and be actively involved with a product which aims to increase awareness of the environmental, social and economic benefits of a sustainable and circular bioeconomy. It is so encouraging to make available this engaging and innovative book designed for use by wider society, specifically children and their adults – whether at home or in school.”
Minerva has a limited number of books available for distribution in the UK. If you are interested in receiving a copy, please email us at info@minervacomms.net.
