Andover-based specialist communications agency, Minerva, is seeking a talented school leaver to assist in the development of several exciting new prospects, both in the UK and Europe. It’s a fantastic opportunity to join the expanding team and play a key role in building relationships with new clients, getting projects off the ground and expanding Minerva’s business scope.
“We’re looking for a talented individual who can follow a brief, work flexibly, meet a deadline and demonstrate creative insight,” says Rhonda Smith, Director of Minerva. “In return, we promise that you won’t just be making tea and doing the filing! We’ll give you the opportunity to gain credible experience, delivering ‘real’ pieces of work which impact positively on our contracts.”
The company recently won funding to co-ordinate a new European project and has a broad client base including UK charities. Minerva supports organisations across health, care and scientific research, so the variety of work provides great professional exposure for anyone interested in exploring a career in issues management and communications.
A year with Minerva was perfect for 19-year-old Emma Blackburn, from Clanville, who gained valuable experience by providing support across all areas of the business.
“I’m really glad I decided to get a job rather than head straight to Uni,” Emma says. “I’ve definitely grown in confidence and have gained skills which will be helpful when I’m studying, such as prioritising workload, report generation and research, and meeting deadlines.
“It’s also great to have work on the doorstep, so I’ve not had to commute far and my flexible work pattern means I can still pursue my other interests.”
