Minerva is organising an interactive workshop at Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary science event – ESOF – on behalf of the EU-project Silver Santé Study.
The event, being held on Thursday 12th July in Toulouse, France, will give ESOF delegates from across the globe the chance to try some of the mental training techniques being used in the Study’s clinical trials investigating mental health and well-being in the ageing population.
The Silver Santé Study, of which Minerva is the communications partner, is a €7 million H2020 research project investigating the determinants of mental health and wellbeing in the ageing population of Europe. Using neuroimaging scans, self-reporting, behavioural measures, sleep measures and blood biomarkers, researchers are assessing the effects of mental training techniques, such as meditation and language-learning, on volunteers in France, Spain, Germany and the UK.
The project has been chosen to host a 75-minute session called ‘The Magic of Memory: Can brain training techniques help boost memory and improve mental health in later life?’, which will take place at 17:00 at the Pavillon Exterieur in the Conseil Departemental, Toulouse. Minerva’s Charlotte Reid, who is organising the event on behalf of the Silver Santé Study, said: “We are delighted that our submission to host a session was chosen as there was tough competition to take part.
“This event provides an ideal opportunity to share the work of the Silver Santé Study with scientists, businesses and policy-makers from all over the world and we look forward to giving them a chance to try out some of the brain training activities being assessed in our clinical trials at our fun, interactive session.”
ESOF is the largest interdisciplinary science meeting in Europe, dedicated to scientific research and innovation, offers a unique framework for interaction and debate. For more information on ESOF visit www.esof.eu
