Over the years, Minerva has been fortunate enough to have the capacity to provide a wealth of opportunities and experiences to young professionals in Public Relations and Communications. As part of our 10 year celebrations, we have touched base with some of our interns from over the years to find out where they are today

My time at Minerva, although relatively short, it was exceptionally memorable. I was lucky enough to carry out a summer internship at Minerva Communications, where I learned a lot about the field of communications. From my first day I started, I was greeted with warm smiles and I knew instantly I was going to enjoy my time. All members of the team provided complementary skills and assets to the business, and openly offered their tips and tricks within the industry. I have learned a lot from the team, which I have been able to apply outside of Minerva. Since my summer internship, I have gone on to complete a master’s in forensic Linguistics. Minerva opened my eyes to the world of communications and has enticed me to pursue a career where I am able to offer accurate, engaging, and effective content, to a range of audiences. Minerva communications is a truly special company.

Rhonda, as cliche as it sounds, helped me find direction. Before Minerva, I had so many ideas with what and where I wanted to go with my life but no real idea how to get there. My work at Minerva taught me so many skills both for my future career and also in my personal life that I will take forward with me. Rhonda is so giving, and loves to teach you. I had so many amazing experiences working with incredible clients- throughout, she gave me opportunities and guided me. Without Minerva, I wouldn’t be doing a course I love at university, I wouldn’t have had the further work experience opportunities I have had and I wouldn’t be the ‘OTT’ organised person I am today. Happy Anniversary Minerva, thank you for all you have done for me!

Joining the Minerva team after graduating from university was my first step into my career. I’d had jobs before, but nothing that built me as a professional and individual in the way that Minerva has. I’ve now been with Rhonda and the team for 4 years and couldn’t possibly detail the wealth of training, experiences, opportunities and growth I’ve been fortunate enough to go through during that time. Rhonda took me on as a complete newbie to the PR world and has supported and guided me to where I am now – a confident and capable professional with a whole landscape of possibilities ahead of me. I’m very glad Rhonda gave me that open door and can’t thank her and Minerva enough. Happy 10th Birthday!
Photo of me, standing at the top of the Gullfoss Waterfall during a tour of the Golden Circle, a day’s excursion during a trip to Iceland where Rhonda and I delivered an intensive Communications training workshop for the PhD students in the ELENA Marie Curie project – just one of the many amazing opportunities I’ve experienced during my time at Minerva

Working at Minerva throughout my gap year enabled me to develop my skills and learn about the world of PR and communications.
Rhonda and the team were so welcoming and taught me so much. Since my days at Minerva, I’ve graduated from university and have spent the past two years in the communications department at Newbury Racecourse. None of this would be possible without my experiences at Minerva.
